The Addict deck is a product designed by Kevin Demay and Johann Moreau is a fundamental part of the Addict range.
Although the working title was the 'Empire' Deck, there is no general product name and the deck is only specified by either the 'The Art of Shredding' deck or one of the Signature 'Pro Models'.
The product consists of the Deck body, an axle bolt, axle screw, 2 steel spacers, 4 plastic brakes (1 installed, 3 spare), a brake screw and a brake bolt. All current Addict decks are made from 6061-T6 heat-treated Aluminium, however the 106mm version (i.e. the 'Special Design' Dissidence Edition) was planned to be made from 6082 Aluminium.
Several prototype Addict decks were manufactured and given to the Addict riders along with potential distributors. They were left raw and no graphics were printed on them. Other differences include the absence of gussets between the neckplates. Footage of these decks being ridden can be found in the Addict first 'So What?' promo.
Both the footplate and the headtube are machined from an extrusion. The footplate is then cut for the back dropouts and front cut-outs and drilled for the axle holes. A Front plate is then welded onto the nose of the deck (covering the two front cutouts) and the welds are ground down for a cleaner look. The 'arched' neck plates are made from an extrusion mould which is then stamped and ground into shape.
The axle and spacers are made black through anodising.
JD Randriambelson Pro modelEdit
The JD Randriambelson Pro model Deck is a Signature Product for Jean-Yves Randriambelson. It has a length of 530mm, a width of 116mm and a headtube angle of 83 degrees. It has a 3 degree concave and a flat black finish.
The graphic underneath is branded with 'JD' tattooed on a hand raising the middle finger, which JD states is 'for all the haters out there'. Above this is the outline of his home country, Madagascar, overlapping a stereo. The top shows the behind of a female with the words 'Gasy Attitude' (with 'Gasy' being a slang abbreviation for 'Malagasy', a term to describe something relating to Madagascar).
Unlike many of the Addict decks, the graphic on the JD Signature deck matches the graphic on the JD Signature bar.
In November, 2012, Addict ended production of this deck due to JD's termination of his contracted Addict sponsorship, making them a rarity.
Maxime 'Le Baron' Pro modelEdit
The Le Baron Pro model Deck is a Signature Product for Maxime Legrand. It has a length of 520mm, a width of 116mm and a headtube angle of 83 degrees. The pre-release version of this product is finished with a dark blue paint nearly identical to the Le Baron Pro Model bars, however the retail version of this product is painted light blue due to a manufacturing error. This error remains unchanged even on the Version 1.5 despite that dark blue versions of the deck were still being made for Maxime himself. The dark blue Le Baron decks have been owned by few people other than Maxime (such as Michael Goumaz and Thomas Obadia) and are considered a rarity.
The graphic underneath is branded with 'Le Baron' on top of the Addict Logo and shows the decapitation of a monarch believed to be based on King Louis XIV of France. Underneath is the words 'Street Life' on an edited arrangement based on OCB Slim Premium hemp rolling papers, followed by the words 'Addict' and 'Le Baron' chalk-written repeatedly on a brick wall. On this wall also shows a spliff along one of the dropouts. The graphic was designed by Damien Capozzi.
Matt McKeen Pro modelEdit
The Matt McKeen Pro model Deck is a Signature Product for Matt McKeen. It has a length of 520mm, a width of 116mm and a headtube angle of 82 degrees. It also has 3 degrees of concave and a flat black finish.
Alex Peasley Pro modelEdit
The Alex Peasley Pro model Deck is a Signature Product for Alex Peasley. It has a length of 540mm (making it the longest deck in the Addict range), a width of 116mm and a headtube angle of 82 degrees. It has 3 degrees of concave and a flat green finish (unlike the original design concept which was black).
Johann Moreau Pro modelEdit
The Johann Moreau Pro model Deck is a Signature Product for Johann Moreau. It has a length of 520mm, a width of 116mm and a headtube angle of 82 degrees. It also has 3 degrees of concave (making the specs identical to that of the Matt McKeen deck) and a flat black finish.
The graphic underneath shows a moonlit and misty scenery with a salivating wearwolf with glowing red eyes, covered with specs which appear like blood. Underneath is the name 'Johann Moreau' along with his nickname 'TDM', the full Addict logo at the bottom and the BitchBoy logo along the right dropout. It was drawn using a pen and water colours style.
Michael Cajas-Pinho Pro modelEdit
The Michael Cajas Pro model Deck is a Signature Product for Michael Cajas-Pinho. It has a length of 520mm, a width of 116mm and a headtube angle of 83 degrees. It also has 3 degrees of concave (making the specs identical to that of the Maxime Legrand deck) and a flat black finish.
The graphic was drawn up by Cajas himself.
Stan Smirnoff Pro modelEdit
The Stan Smirnoff Pro model Deck was an unmade Signature Product concept for Stan Smirnoff during his sponsorship by Addict. It is unsure what they specs were intended to be as the product remains uncreated, but the deck featured a signature graphic showing a caricatured Stan Smirnoff holding a bong showing Addict logos are bubbles. Outlines of marijuana leaves were also shown on the deck graphic. On the top, the Addict logo was to be printed at the front of the deck accompanied by the word 'Stan' with the 'a' as a second Addict logo.
The Art Of ShreddingEdit
Dissidence Edition (Special Design)Edit
The Dissidence Edition (Special Design) Addict Deck was an unmade Product concept during Dissidence's investment in Addict. As such, the deck was covered in both Addict and Dissidence branding. It was designed to have a length of 530mm (20.866"), a width of 106mm (4.173") and a headtube angle of 81.5 degrees. These specifications were unique from any other deck and to this day no such 530mm x 106mm/81.5° Addict deck exists. It was also the only Addict deck design to feature a full waterdecal graphic on both the top and the bottom. This deck would have only been available from Dissidence Scooter Shop.
